The Office of Admissions & the rest of the campus community welcomes the class of 2025 to virtual SpelBound! We will kick off the event with an welcome address from several members of the Spelman community, including Spelman College’s President, Dr. Mary Schimdt-Campbell.
3:45pm – 5:00pm (EST) Class of 2025 Sister Chat
The Class of 2025 will chat with the Dean of Students and current Spelmanites in a candid conversation about college life, living away from home, what to look forward to, how to prepare, and everything in between! Choose from the following breakout Sessions:

A Quest For Mindfulness
5:30pm – 7:30pm (EST) Spelmanite Live Access Session Recording
The Class of 2025 will interact with their fellow admitted students and current Spelmanites in various activities, complete with a DJ and an opportunity to win prizes.

Chapter II: Empower
3:00pm – 3:45pm (EST) Curriculum Designed with You in Mind: STEM Lecture Access Session Recording
Dr. Rosalind Bass, Chair, Associate Professor, and Director of Health Careers Program will lead a STEM focused mock lecture, providing students with an inside look at Spelman’s unique academic environment.
4:00pm – 5:00pm (EST) What to Expect After You Accept Access Session Recording
An opportunity for admitted students and families to hear from campus partners who will assist new students throughout their transition and matriculation at Spelman. Representatives from Undergraduate Studies, Residence Life, Student Life, Career Development & Planning, and Health Services will be featured.
5:15pm – 6:15pm (EST) Financing Your Future: Financial Aid Information Session Access Session Recording
Hear from the Director of Financial Aid and Director of Admissions about your financial aid next steps.
6:25pm – 7:00pm (EST) Contemplative Practice – Meditation Access Session Recording
A resource for helping you to recharge and renew, so that you have the energy to navigate all that is happening. Led by Dr. Veta Goler, this session will allow you to meditate and engage in other practices that will enable you to access the peace, strength and creativity we need right now.

Dr. Michelle Hite, Associate Professor, Honors Program Director, International Fellowships and Scholarships Director will lead an honors level mock lecture & discussion, providing students with an inside look at Spelman’s unique academic environment.
4:00pm – 5:00pm (EST) Begin with the End in Mind: Pathways Beyond the Gate Access Session Recording
Join Graduate School Counselor, LaTonya O’Neal and current students as they discuss their experiences on how they leveraged and took part in a variety of academic and professional opportunities such as study abroad, domestic exchange, dual degree, 3+3, and early assurance programs.
5:15pm – 6:00pm (EST) Curriculum Designed with You in Mind: Humanities Lecture Access Session Recording
Dr. Cynthia Neal Spence, Social Justice Fellows Program Director, UNCF/Mellon Programs Director and Associate Professor will lead Sociology/Anthropology focused mock lecture, providing students with an inside look at Spelman’s unique academic environment.
